




























Welcome to “Nomad Lodge Song-Kul” yurt camp!
Camp operating period: from middle of June to middle of September
The camp is located on a high mountain pasture on the altitude of 3016 meters above sea level, in a quiet place on the northern shore of Song-Kul Lake, 110 km from the village of Kochkor and 330 km from the city of Bishkek through the Kalmak-Ashuu pass and 44 km from the village of Kyzart through the Tuz-Ashuu pass.
For many years, local people who graze cattle have been calling Son-Kul a summer paradise for nomads. From June to September all pastures around Son-Kul Lake are occupied by yurts of nomads, one can notice sheep and horse herds stroll around freely. It is the freedom of mountains and nomadic life that attract guests to visit this place in summer time. You can get to the mountain lake and to the yurt camp there by car, on foot through mountain passes, on horseback or by mountain bike. Anyone who comes to Song-Kul will find something to suit his or her taste. Visiting nomadic families, smiles of local people, the smell and taste of freshly baked bread will leave only pleasant and unforgettable impressions.
The location of the camp is very convenient for mountain admirers who can start their mountain hiking, horse and bike tours from the camp or make the camp their final destination. The most popular summer mountain trails are passing through the yurt camp. In mid-summer, on the last Saturday of July, the annual Nomad Festival with traditional horse games, local cuisine, felt handicrafts and folklore show is held here, 7 km away from the camp in so-called Batay-Aral area.
- The camp has 10 natural yurts for accommodation, decorated in the national style. Accommodation options in each yurt are Basic – by 4 people, Comfort – by 2 people.
- All sleeping yurts are equipped with beds and comfortable mattresses of 80cmx200cm size. Each new client is provided with clean bed linen, two blankets and pillow.
- Each yurt has wooden floor covered with carpet. Each yurt is covered with waterproof cover. All these facilities help to protect sleeping yurts from moisture in bad weather and allows guests to stay comfortably inside the yurt without shoes.
- Each sleeping yurt has an oven for heating. Depending on the weather and temperature outside, each yurt is heated 1-2 times a day (in the evening and early in the morning).
- There is an European standard toilet (with toilet bowls) next to each bedroom yurt, at the entrance.
- There are five shower cabins with hot water. Shower cabins operate daily from 16.00 to 19.00. One shower cabin is for every two yurts. They are also located next to sleeping yurts.
- There are two dining yurts in the camp. Each dining yurt has a capacity for 20 people. Dining yurts are decorated in the national style, have low table, small folding chairs and national mattresses “jer toshok”, “, that are comfortable to sit on at the table.
- Electricity in the camp of 220v/50Hz is supplied from 18.00 to 23.00. At this time, guests can charge their phones and cameras.
- Due to its location in the mountains and the lack of communications, the camp has no Internet connection or Wi-Fi.
- In case of unforeseen/emergency circumstances, the camp administration has a 24/7 connection.
- Soft and alcoholic beverages are not available in the camp. You are allowed to bring your own drinks with you. Sale of beverages to other guests is prohibited.
- The basic package of camp services includes accommodation with breakfast.
- Accommodation with breakfast on the base of 4-people accommodation: is 35$ per person per day.
- Accommodation with breakfast on base of Comfort stay, 2-people in a yurt: is 50$ per person per day.
- Meals for guests who are accommodated in the yurt camp are: Lunch is 12$ per person , Dinner is 12$ per person.
- Ordering of lunch or dinner without accommodation – is 14$ per person for lunch and 14$ per person for dinner.
(discounts are available to children only for accommodation with breakfast):

- From 3 to 5 years – 50%
- From 6 to 10 years – 30%
- Horseback riding. Maximum six horses can be arranged at the same time for riding. The payment for horses is made for the whole day use, even if the ride is less in time (1-4 hours). Rent of horse for riding always includes service of local stableman, horses without service of stableman are not provided.

- 2-3 people – 38$ per day per person
- 4-6 people – 35$ per day per person
- Transportation for 1-3 people from Kochkor village to the camp or back, one-end service – is 115$ per car
- Transport from Bishkek to Son-Kul and back within two days, 4×4 jeep with a capacity of 1-3 people – is 465$ per car
- Arrangement of the national horse game called Ulak-Tartysh is 260$ for the group
- Services of a local guide for one-day hike in the gorge in the summer season is 50$ per group
- The booking of the accommodation or other services of the yurt camps can be done through the reservation section on the web-site, or by e-mail info@nomad-lodge.com. Orders by phone or orally are not considered and accepted.
- Along with a written confirmation, a voucher describing all booked services will be sent to your mailbox. Without the voucher, camp services will not be provided and will not be refunded.
- Payment for the camp services is accepted via VISA card while booking or by bank transfer within three working days after receiving of the voucher with the specified bank details.
- For cancelations made more than 7 days in advance – no penalty fee will be charged.
- For cancellations made less than 7 days in advance, but more than 2 days in advance, a 50% cancellation fee will be charged.
- For cancellations made less than 2 days in advance, no refund will be made.

Day 1
Meet in the evening in Kochkor in the Nomad Lodge Guesthouse. Chek in to the rooms. Optionly possible to orginise the dinner. Overnight
Day 2
Meeting with the local driver and transfer to Kyzart village the start point of trek (80 km). Meeting with trekking staff. Early lunch in the family of the local guide in Kyzart village. Soft trek about 4-5 hours to the pasture Kelimche (15 km). Dinner in yurts. Overnight stay in yurta.
Day 3
Breakfast in yurts. Trek about 4-5 hours (about 13 km) to the lake Song-Kul which is located on altitude 3030 m. During the trek you will cross the pass Jalgyz-Karagay (3320 m). Free time in the afternoon for the excursion to the lake. Lunch and dinner in yurts. Overnights stay in yurt camp.
Day 4
Breakfast. Meet the driver and transfer back to Kochkor 150 km. Overnight in Nomad Lodge Guesthouse. End of service.

Day 1 Kochkor
Meet in the evening in Kochkor in the Nomad Lodge Guesthouse with the guide. Check-in to the rooms. Dinner. Overnight
Day 2 Kochkor –Song Kul
After breakfast transfer to Tolok village. Start of biking. Biking to Song-Kul – 50 km (4-6 hours).Biking uphill, then down hill. Dinner and overnight in the yurts.
Day 3 Song Kul
Spend the whole day at Son-Kul Lake. Here you can take a day hike in the mountains, meet local shepherds; observe the way of life of the nomads. For a surcharge, there is the possibility to ride a horse and enjoy beautiful nature and silence. Try mare’s milk “Kymyz”.
Or biking around the lake about 40 km. For overnight return to Yurt camp.
Day 4 Song Kul – Tuz pass- Kyz Art – Kochkor
After breakfast biking over the Tuz Pass 3300m to Kyz Art village about 30km. load the bikes to the car and transfer to Kochkor about 70 km. Upon arrival dinner and overnight in the Nomad Lodge gusthouse.

Day 1. Bishkek-Son-Kul
After the short city tour in Bishkek drive to the breathtaking Song-Kul Lake at the altitude of 3016 m. It is a popular place where local nomads come every summer with their families and cattle. A flat plain with beautiful flowers, where you can stay alone and enjoy nature. On the way a stop in the village of Kochkor for lunch. Visit the women’s cooperative “Altyn Kol”, where you can participate in the production of traditional felt carpets. Upon arrival to the lake, dinner and overnight in the yurts at the lake.
Day 2. Son-Kul
Spend the whole day at Son-Kul Lake. Here you can take a day hike in the mountains, meet local shepherds, observe the way of life of the nomads. For a surcharge, there is a possibility to ride a horse and enjoy beautiful nature and silence. One can here taste the traditional national drink, made of mare’s milk called “Kymyz”.
Overnight and dinner in the yurt camp.
Day 3. Son-Kul-Bishkek
After breakfast, drive through Boom Gorge back to the capital. On the way visit the Burana Tower, a place on the Great Silk Road from the 11th century. Here one can get acquainted with the history of the old town of Balasagyn and the Silk Road history and culture. Transfer to Bishkek. End of NoviNomad service
